What is the proper dance attire for classes? Dance shoes typically have flexible suede soles with a nap to them. If you are not ready to invest in dance shoes just yet, it is best to wear shoes with a hard sole, either leather or hard, smooth rubber. Sneakers are often too grippy and can be hard on your knees when turning. Make sure the shoes will stay on your feet. Sandals or flip–flops are not advised. Clothing should be comfortable and loose fitting.
COMFORT is the name of the game! Many students come directly from work to classes and are wearing business attire. You do have an opportunity to change into more comfortable clothes at our class locations if you so choose. More stylish dance attire and shoes can be purchased on the world wide web or from local merchants.
